About Us

Hands of Patriots (HoP) is a women and youth-led Civil Society Organization set up in 2015 to help drive the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria.
With donor funding support, we are continuously committed to interventions that benefits the poor and hard-to-reach communities, with special focus on marginalized/excluded people in Nigeria. Our major aim is to ensure that development benefits reaches those furthest behind first, especially the youth, women, and people living with disabilities.
Specifically, we do this by supporting LG-, State-, National-, and Global-level frameworks, policies, and strategies aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals through collaborations with actors in the public sector, private sector, CSOs (including NGOs, formal and non-formal CBOs and FBOs), the media, academia and other non-conventional stakeholders to design and implement projects ranting from health, to education, to government, to gender, to institutional strengthening, and to water and sanitation.

Door-To-Door Community Sensitization on COVID-19

The intervention is currently promoting the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Nigeria Center for Disease Control’s (NCDC) social distancing and personal hygiene guidelines and recommendation to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. 14 volunteers from each community were selected, trained and empowered with mega phones for continuous awareness on COVID-19, and COVID-19 information materials (including posters & handbills in English and local language), personal hygiene kits supplies for mass dissemination in the intervention’s target communities.

On Election Day

Eradication of Fake News in Election Times

HoP with funding from Unity Train Magazine closely followed, monitored the activities of key political actors pre-election, on election-day and post-election in Delta State; blocked the spread of fake news and distributed veritable content to the Nigerian public via social media and the magazine’s blog. This contributed heavily towards averting the post-election violent conflict that was predicted by many foreign and local bodies.
